Chris Williamson

Mr. Williamson joined the Taoyuan American School family as Principal in 2018. He earned his M.A.Ed. from Florida Atlantic University with a Major in Educational Leadership, his B.A. from Saginaw Valley State University, Majoring in Social Sciences and Minoring in Physical and Health Education and Certification from the College of Education, and has Certification for English as a Second Language and Bilingual Education from the American College of Education. He is certified in Educational Leadership and Social Science from the State of Florida. Chris has 27 years of teaching and administration experience that includes 15 years at Broward County Public Schools and the past 12 years in Taiwan. He has experience with WASC and CIS accreditation, IB MYP and DP programs, and the College Board Advanced Placement Program. He served in the United States Army stationed in Germany. Chris enjoys traveling and enjoying a variety of sights, sounds, and food with his wife and son.

Salomè Pienaar

Salomè Pienaar received a Bachelor of Education (Hons) in Special Education from Cape Peninsula University of Technology.  She obtained her teaching license from the South African Council of Educators in 2005.  Salomè has a passion for special needs education and believes that every student has a special gift that needs to be developed. Before moving to Taiwan, Salomè taught at various schools in South Africa. She has been teaching in Taiwan for the last seven years. She enjoys planning different activities to obtain optimal learning in each class. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and keeping busy with arts and crafts.
